Some time ago, I was giving a confidence talk that merged and morphed into an image and confidence talk :)
During the presentation, I made a throw away remark about the fact that your handbag should fit within your pelvic bones.... and I cannot believe how many times this throw away remark has been quoted back to me. Sometimes with angst...
Generally speaking, as small framed person cannot successfully carry a large handbag, without it looking as though the bag (or briefcase) is wearing the person who is carrying it!
Most men and women want to be seen for themselves not as the person porting a large package.
Simple guideline smaller people - smaller handbags .... bigger people - bigger handbags...
Now I know that some of you will argue differently  and that is great and is exactly what a forum is for....

I like to have a handbag that is large enough to hold all the things I need, but not large enough to hold everything I could end up putting into it!! When I go to meetings or networking events or come to think of it, anywhere, I don't want to be rummaging about in a muddle of 'stuff' to find my business cards, or a pen or whatever I want. If there's too much in my handbag (or briefcase) I look disorganised and that's not helpful when people are judging me on first impressions. In my training sessions on event management, I explain how to select 'reliable' suppliers. One of the criteria I use is - do they look reliable and organised? If they're not organised at that initial meeting, what does that suggest about how they conduct their business? So it's important to appear organised and competent, not harrassed and unprepared.

I just love handbags of all shapes, sizes, colours and styles. There is nothing better than a new Louis Vuitton - luxury French LV! Guaranteed to cheer me everytime! I am not concerned about the size really although I think my back prefers me to carry a smaller lighter bag...

I agree with both sides... a handbag that reflects the organisation of your childs toybox on the inside doesn't make for good presentation, however i think i own a bag of every size and every colour! and if i don't, its my goal to! I love handbags, no matter how big or small, they are very unique to a person. They say a lot :o)

I think handbags make a statement. And it says who you are and what you are about... I quite like matching shoes and handbags...

Just found this forum when I Googled 'confidence forums' and with all the topics and posts on chocolate it feels I belong here!

I think we can all be guilty of crimes of fashion - jelly shoes, shell suits and fringed headbands come to my mind. Great thing about a great handbag is it can take the eye away from the disaster :)

At the moment, more than ever we want style on a shoestring don't we?  And let's face it no-one wakes up in the morning and says, "Yes! Today I want to look a mess!"
We are what we wear and that applies to all our accessories. My favourite handbags are my best friends! They give me confidence and if they help disguise my hipbones well bonus baby!

Handbags are dangerous!!!
There are just too many really nice looking ones in all these stores. And you always can find an excuse why you need that particular new one... fitting to the new pair of shoes, you don't have this colour yet, you were looking for a smaller/bigger one for aaaages, there are in the sale, these nice purple gloves would look awesome with them...
DANGEROUS!

And shoes are dangerous too! Yesterday Eilidh took me to the hair salon, 'Hair Trader' in Sandbach. The owner, Michelle has a fantastic shoe sale at the moment!
I tried on about 15 pairs of shoes! And bought 2 pairs - lovely gold ones with high heels and black strappy sandals with sparkly bits.
I paid just £20.00 instead of the marked price of £105.00! That is what I call a sale! £10.00 per pair! Maybe on this occasion not so dangerous after all.
Ask Eilidh for the details... as she also has some introductory vouchers for 'Hair Trader' too.
