We all feel this way at times Lindsey. What works for me either finding some about me I do like - be it my smile or my new polished nails.
Or, if this doesn't work I take the focus off me and think of someone a lot less fortunate such as my friend, who is just going through a really tough time. Then my lack of gorgeous-ness seems insignificant.
... Oh I and always find putting on lipstick cheers me instantly :)

It's so important to be kind to yourself. Use kind words of encouragment to yourself and silence the inner critic. Saying Hello Gorgeous to the mirror each morning works for me!
Thanks for sharing that Eilidh.

Imagaine a day when you are feeling gorgeous.
Perhaps making full use of all your senses.
Where are you?
What are you seeing/hearing/smelling/tasting/touching?
If you are surrounded by people, what are they saying about you and your georgeousness today?
What will it take to put some of that positivity you have just imagained into your life?

I'd love you hear when you feel at your most georgusness over the next week.

I like the way you have made us think about our sense and focusing on a good day. What a great idea.
I am going to think this way all day today and let you know how I get on.
Right now I smell fresh expresso coffee and aroma fill me with cafeine anticipation.
Thx Hannah

Thanks Emma

Your coffee aroma response made me pause and spend a few minutes 'smelling' me at my most gorgeousness.

I didn't think that had a positive 'aroma' association but in under a minute I was delighted to prove myself wrong.

The smell of stargazer lilles has a strong positive emotional effect on me. These flowers were in our room on our honeymoon. 6 months after getting home I walked into a business foyer and instantly felt good, when I looked around there was a display of stargazers.

Sensing rocks!

Oh Hannah what a lovely post. Will not be able to walk past these lillies now without thinking of your story.
Great way to get the message across.
Now how can I apply this to weigh loss?

For an instant pick me up to look good and feel gorgeous, i always buy a pair of shoes, usually pretty heels! And this is my theory that makes me feel great... my clothes size can go up and down all the time but my shoe size stays the same! Shoes look good no matter what. I think lipstick, shoes and perfume are a perfection combination to boost a girls gorgeousness!

This is so true and so-o YOU Cat.
I was at a conference in London at the weekend. One of the delegates had the most amazing shoes. I mean shoes to die for! High heels, black and white with a bow. Ab Fab and stunning.
I really wanted to tell her to take them off and give them to me but there was a queue of girls behind me wanting to do the same thing!
So happy feet and super shoes make us all feel truly gorg-e-ous.

I love my ankles and when I have a less than gorgeous day I make sure I play them up - with heels or skirt instead of trousers. We tend to focus on what is wrong about how we look  and when I learned to find out what I like ( a la Gok!) then I started playing around with that idea and it worked for me.

The lipstick suggestion is also good - I feel loads better with my lippie on....

I most definately agree, the higher the heel the higher i shine! They do wonders for your legs too. I also have found a new love that boosts my confidence & gorgeousness like nothing else.. spray-on-tans! My mother knows how much i like these, and the best part about the particular one i receive is that it's organic. So my skin lurrves it! It glows, its smooth and i don't look like an umpaloompa! For me, its like liquid gold. I highly recommend that if you're planning a social weekend book yourself in for a spray tan, you'll walk out feeling a million dollars!
I think we should all host the next 'Trinny & Suzanna' ... we all know the secrets and magic touches that make us feel great, so imagine if we passed this onto others!? xx

High heels combined with short husbands are not always the best of combinations. My husband and I are both 1.77m (almost 5 foot 10)!

Filgin - it was a real pleasure meeting you today. When I am feeling more flush, perhaps we could go shoe shopping together to find me that, so far elusive, pair of high heel shoes that I will love spending all day in.

Have a fabulous bank holiday everyone

On a slightly different note...
Blondes vs. Brunettes

"Blondes may have more fun, but Brunettes remember it"
I saw this on a t-shirt the other day and it made me laugh.. lots!
But now i have a story that goes with it... I can play for both sides here as over the past 2 weeks i have gone from being a very dark brunette to a very, excuse the punn, light-headed blonde! I did this for a friend for a yearly hair competition that is held in my City. The transformation was quite an interesting process... the initial 'stripping' of my hair turned me into a walking traffic cone! I was a disturbing shade of orange. However, with sheer determination to create the look she wanted, my hairdresser got the colour just right. Her hard work paid off as my cut and colour gained her 1st place for Female cut and she also took home Stylist of the year for my look too! I was very happy I could help her out and im liking my new look. My boyfriend feels like he has a new woman :D its amazing what a new hair cut/image can do, my confidence has sky rocketed - Blondes really do have more fun!

Sitting here on a very damp dark morning in Scotland my thoughts of friendly advice to a once brunette now blond bombshell were not initially in the 'kindness' zone....more envy.   Then i remember being 20--ish! and look back on 40 (some!) years of true happiness, and agree with Cat, its not who you are it is WHO you are with when you are wearing the brown? Prefer black myself! boots.   I am a winter down to my boots, SO my favourite pick me up is a cerise pashima, matching lipstick....and a smile.
Having had a life changing experience, let you in on that one another time, makes you evaluate your life... and weight may be an issue.... but HAPPIness cures all
Keep shopping if you must, but each day try to give a little away,  it will surprise you how far a smile will travel, even all the way to Australia.

Nothing makes you look more gorgeous than a happy smile on your face. Yesterday, October 2, was the 11th World Smile Day ®.  The theme was as always, "Do an act of kindness.  Help one person smile."  And as ever, the image that leads the way on this day is the smiley face

Smiles go with big hugs and kisses don't they? Take a look at the Big Kiss event that I am delighted to be involved in. If you are in this region of the world on Thu 5th November, do join us!

And keep smiling! Some people will wonder what is your secret...and others will return the smile.

Think about it, if each of us becomes a Smile Ambassador and help just one person smile rather than frown - the world will be a better place.

Just been chatting to Catriona on Skype. We have not actually be together for over a year now :(
Don't know what we'd do without VOIP and fantastic IT communication tools like Skype. It is great to see her looking so gorgeous and happy and to hear all about her company reward trip to Brisbane last weekend.
Sipping champagne in an limousine definitely adds to the gorgeous quotient!
In fact, sipping champagne anytime and anywhere sounds like being gorgeous to me!

We have just bought a Wii! I need it to help me 'be gorgeous' in my party dress for Kyle's Christmas party. It is a posh black - tie event and so I need to look my best :)
The Wii is lots of fun - already we have been playing bowling, table tennis, golf, archery and Frisbee!

Am sure the Wii fit is just what I need! Will let you know how well I do with the party frock!

Have you  ever wondered what the single most important asset is in being gorgeous? Because when that is mastered,  you will in a trice change the way you feel about yourself.

Without a shadow of a doubt - it's the ability to project a confident personae.

That's because the single most attractive trait any woman can possess is ... unshakable confidence in herself.

And that's why I call myself Ms Fit! Cos in my opinion... I am!

Your personal energy speaks volumes about you before you even open your mouth. In today’s high speed e-world you have less than seven seconds to make your first impression. And on the world wide web, if you haven’t grabbed attention within 4.7 seconds your reader moves on.

So who are you? What do people see when you walk into a room? What do they think when they land on your site? Do you understand the silent messages you give simply by 'being' and by being out there? What does your social media profile say about you?

Once you know what your unconscious impact is, you can begin taking control in small manageable steps.  You can develop the ability to move up and down the impact slide and develop your ability to play the game… because that’s what it is… impact and impression management is a serious skill, - nonetheless it is a game.

You can read more and learn some of the rules on Confident Image
http://www.eilidhmilnes.com/ConfidentImage

And of course we'd love your comments too...
